The importance of the common law in the post-Brexit world

Despite the tube strike, we were delighted to welcome members to a seminar and reception at the Embassy of Ireland, London, entitled, ‘The importance of the common law in the post-Brexit world’, on Thursday 3 March 2022.

The event, which was hosted by The Bar of Ireland, the EU Bar Association, and Ireland for Law, included valuable insights from the Hon. Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan (Judge of the Supreme Court of Ireland; Former Advocate General at the CJEU), and the Hon. Ms. Justice Maura McGowan DBE (High Court of England and Wales; Master Treasurer, Middle Temple).

Our first ‘in-person’ event of the year, the evening was well attended and extremely enjoyable.

Our sincere thanks to Ambassador O'Neill for his generous hospitality, and to all who contributed to the event.
