Webinar: NI at 100: Road to Rights - Defeating Criminalisation

15:00 Wed 16 June: NI at 100: Road to Rights - Defeating Criminalisation

We are excited to announce two further talks in June, as part of our series of events aimed at reflecting on human rights developments against the backdrop of Northern Ireland’s centenary. Each talk is being hosted by Mishcon de Reya LLP, and will be an opportunity to hear from some fascinating and engaging speakers - please sign up below, through the Mishcon de Reya website.

Our next event will be an interview with Jeff Dudgeon MBE, the claimant behind the European Court of Human Rights case which successfully challenged NI's laws criminalising consensual sexual acts between men in private. It was simultaneously the first time that the court found in favour of LGBT+ rights. We will be discussing with Jeff his involvement in this landmark case, and his perspective on how gay rights have evolved in Northern Ireland.
